Kenvin B. "Punk" Transue Olean-- Kenvin B. "Punk" Transue of 1866 Willard Street, Olean, passed away Tuesday (December 1, 2009) at his home. Born December 24, 1954 in Franklinville, NY he was the son of Damon "Danny" W. and Doris K. Button Transue. "Punk" was raised in Franklinville and graduated from Franklinville High School in 1972. He then served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1973 to 1974, and then resided in Arcade where he worked for TNT Construction. Later he moved to Allegany and worked in the maintenance department for the Allegany Central School. His most recent employment was as a foreman for the Florida based company, Nortel Telecommunications. He was a member of the Olean Eagles Aerie #616, the Christopher Columbus Lodge and the Olean American Legion. He loved the Boston Red Sox, the Oakland Raiders, Horse racing, "The Tickies", and the love of his life, "Honey". Surviving are his longtime partner Mary Ann Chesebro with whom he shared his life with the past twenty years; 3 children Mary Kelly (James Palicki) Chesebro of East Concord, NY, Matthew A. Chesebro of Allegany and Michael E. Chesebro of Allegany; 1 brother Ronald L. Transue of California and 1 sister Kathleen N. Sherman of California, several nieces and nephews, many close friends and "acquaintences" who will sadly miss him. He was predeceased by his parents and 1 brother Charles "Chuck" D. Transue. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean today from 1-3pm. With a funeral service will beginning at 3pm in the funeral home. Dr. Anthony Evans will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials, may be made to the Eagles Aerie #616, 116 W. Sullivan St., Olean, NY 14760, or to the Olean American Legion, 307 E. State St., Olean, NY 14760.
