Obituary of Laura B. Miles

Laura B. Miles Allegany, NY—Laura B. Miles, most recently of 110 E. Main St. died Wednesday (May 21, 2008) in the Olean General Hospital after a long illness. Born February 16, 1920 in Independence, NY she was the daughter of Wallace and Ellen Fowler Miles. Mrs. Miles was a graduate of Genesee, PA High School and was a former resident of the Chipmonk and Olean areas. She worked for Bell Aircraft during WWII and later worked as a housekeeper in the Olean area. She was a member of the First Free Methodist Church in Allegany and she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and was an avid reader. Surviving are 3 daughters Carol Cooney of Allegany, Kay Trowbridge of Hinsdale and Billie Jean (William) Nichols of Allegany; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 1 sister Florence Mattison of Westfield, PA and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 sisters Satie Trowbridge, Prudence Welch and Arvilla Webb and 1 brother Wallace Miles, Jr. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Genesee Cemetery, Genesee, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
