CAROLYN J. STRADE LANCASTER - Carolyn J. Strade, formerly of Olean died today June 20, 2002 at the Wedgewood Health Care Center, Amherst. Born in Batavia, NY on April 1, 1933 she was the daughter of Harry Hopkins and Elizabeth Currie Faulkner. She was employed as a bus driver for over 30 years working for Cottrell in the Buffalo area and also drove bus for Allegany-Limestone School district. Carolyn was an avid gardener and bird watcher. She enjoyed spending time at Allegany State Park. She is survived by seven children; Carol Peterson of Olean, Kathryn (Robert) Gross of Lancaster, Lauraine (Rick) Ross of Olean, Michael (Tammy) Strade of Allegany, Christopher (Chris) Strade of Olean, Douglas Strade of Olean and Lesie (Tom) Gluszak of Jamestown; nine grandchildren and one brother, Patrick Faulkner of Kentucky. She was predeceased by three brothers Duane "Hoppy" Hopkins, Raymond Faulkner and Theodore Faulkner and two sisters Jane M. Clark and Sally Jacky. There will be no public visitations. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday June 23, 2002 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 131 N. 9th Street, Olean at 2:00 PM. Rev. Gerald Piper, pastor will officiate. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean.
