Margaret A. Sturges
Olean, NY—Margaret A. “Mags” Sturges of 1951 W. Fall Rd. died Friday (June 27, 2008) at her residence, surrounded by her caring friends.
Born January 31, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of Charles and Phyllis Kurila Sturges.
Ms Sturges had resided in Allegany and Olean since 1988 was a retired employee of !SubCon Industries of Olean. She was known as a “good catholic girl” who enjoyed fishing, wearing jewelry, collecting purses and shopping, especially at K-Mart. She also enjoyed attending local theater productions as well as watching old movies, especially The Sound of Music. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church.
There are no known surviving family members.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean on Monday from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday (July 1, 2008) beginning with a prayer service at 9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Bonaventure Church at 10:00am. Rev. Richard Husted, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Bonaventure Church.
