Josephine A. “Joann” Butinski

Olean, NY—Josephine A. “Joann” Butinski of 1833 W. Franklin St. died shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital after a longtime battle with Scleroderma.
Born January 25, 1934 in Oil City, PA she was the daughter of Edwin and Virginia Larkham Woods. In January 1957 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany she married Robert W. Butinski who survives.
Mrs. Butinski was a graduate of Olean High School and had resided in Olean most of her life. She had first been employed as a government worker in Washington, DC and later worked in Olean for the former Bradner’s Department Store, the former Big N and other retail stores in the area.
She was a member of the St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany.
Surviving besides her husband are 1 son Robert J. (Diana) Butinski of Richmond, TX; 1 sister Mary Woods of Williamsville; 2 brothers William (Nancy) Woods of Inverness, FL and Daniel (Marie) Woods of Portville and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean on Sunday from 6-9pm. Funeral services will be held Monday (October 13, 2008) beginning with a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am in St. Bonaventure Church. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
