MARY L. BURROUGHS "Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother" OLEAN - Mary L. Burroughs of Irving Street died Sunday June 30, 2002 at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Olean on September 10, 1926 she was the daughter of Leo and Anna Williamson Wenke. On November 29, 1947 at St. Mary of the Angels Church she married Claude "Marty" Burroughs who survives. Mrs. Burroughs was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Church. She was a former member of the Olean Women's Bowling Association. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed birds. In addition to her husband she is survived by one son Edward (Barbara) Burroughs of Olean; two grandchildren Dean (Melanie) Burroughs of Limestone, Dawn (Jeffrey) Parker of Port Allegany, PA and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Bernard Wenke in 1960. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road Olean on Monday July 1, 2002 from 7-9 PM and on Tuesday July 2, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday July 3, 2002 beginning with a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor will be celebrant. Burial and committal services will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. A vigil wake service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening. Memorials may be made to Homecare and Hospice, 1225 West State St, Olean 14760 or to the American Heart Association.
