Obituary of Joseph J. Patronek

Olean, NY—Joseph J. Patronek, recently of Eden Heights, passed away Monday (August 20, 2007) in Absolut Care of Allegany.
Born May 31, 1920 in Buffalo NY, he was the son of Jan and Catherine Yosz Patronek. He first married Genevieve Kulas who passed away in 1966. He later married Lottie Kiebzak Sarafin who predeceased him in July 2000.
Mr. Patronek resided in the Buffalo area for most of his life having moved to Olean in 2001. He had been employed at Buffalo Color Corporation as an Industrial Electrician for 15 years before retiring in 1982. Prior to his employment he served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII.
He was a member of the American Legion in North Tonawanda and a former member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Tonawanda. He loved music, woodworking, staining glass, and drawing and he was very artistic.
Surviving are 2 sons Gary Patronek of Boston, MA and Jeffrey (Nancy) Patronek of Hinsdale; 2 step-sons Robert (Kathy) Sarafin of Martinez, GA and Dennis (Pauline) Sarafin of Orchard Park, NY; 1 brother Walter Patronek of Vernon, TX; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wives he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to a memorial mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Tonawanda at 10:30am on August 30, 2007. Burial will precede the Mass at 9:30am in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Cheektowaga.
Memorials if desired may be made to the Hinsdale American Legion Post 1434 Rte. 16 Hinsdale NY 14743. Arrangements are under the direction of Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Road, Olean.
