Olean—James W. Kyser of 1518 Happy Hollow Road Olean, passed away Wednesday August 22, 2007 at the Olean General Hospital.
Born November 12, 1922 in Olean, he was the son of Richard and Clare Simons Kyser. On April 10, 1943 he married Pearl Stickels who predeceased him on October 22, 1992.
Mr. Kyser was first employed with his father at Kyser and Lee Garage in Olean as a master mechanic. He later was a self employed operator of Kyser’s Garage. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WWII and was a member and former officer of the Olean Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #491. He was also a member of the Allegany American Legion Charles Harbel Post 892.
Surviving is a sister Jan Schryver of Tacoma, WA and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife he was predeceased by a sister Marjorie Costa in 1958.
There will be no visitation. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Allegany Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to the Allegany America Legion or to the Olean Elk’s Lodge.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean.
