Obituary of Frances L. Johnson

FRANCES L. JOHNSON "Gentle and giving Mother & Grandmother" OLEAN - Frances L. Johnson, formerly of Buffalo St., died Monday September 30, 2002 at the Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Machias Campus. She was born in Salamanca on July 3, 1920. She married Arthur J. Johnson who predeceased her March 2, 1999. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed bowling. She was a master of many crafts and enjoyed gardening and sewing. Her family will remember her as a very kind and gentle woman. She is survived by a son, Raymond (Sheryl) Johnson of Olean and a daughter, Nancy (Thomas) Johnson - D'Alio of Topsail Beach, NC; 4 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. There were no public visitations. Private funeral and committal services were conducted at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church officiated. Burial was in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to SPCA in Cattaraugus County, St. Mary of the Angels Church or to the Alzheimer's Association of Western New York.
