BUDDY VERGITH
OLEAN – Buddy Vergith of 417 North 13th Street died Tuesday February 3, 2004 at the Olean General Hospital following a brief illness. Born in East Otto on August 13, 1927 he was a son of Gustave and Daisy Vergith. Buddy was a resident of East Otto until the early 1970's prior to moving to Olean. He was employed at Sub Con from 1972 until his retirement in July of 1997.
Buddy participated in both the Sub Con bowling league and the Softball league. He enjoyed annual vacations with his friends to the Thousand Islands. He loved lilacs, cheeseburgers, potato salad and coconut cream pie. One of the highlights of his retirement was an airplane ride with his friends Mickey and Donald. Buddy was very patriotic and loved the American flag. He enjoyed his pet rabbits.
Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd. Olean on Friday February 6, 2004 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at which time funeral and committal services will be conducted. Rev. R. Stanley Parks, pastor of Mt. Zion Christian Assembly will officiate. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery, Allegany, NY. Memorials may be made to the !ReHabilitaion Center, 1439 Buffalo St., Olean, NY 14760
