Sharron J. Crosson
Portville, NY Sharron J. Crosson, of Portville, passed away Friday (August 23, 2024) at The Pines of Olean after a brief illness.
Born February 16, 1946 in Olean, she was the daughter of Wallace and Barbara Gross Senyk. On July 15, 1967 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean she married Thomas A. Crosson who survives.
Sharron attended Olean High School and began working at the former Hi-Q, later AVX Corp. Her real passion was working with crafts, and she spent many years working part-time for Weston’s Craft Store, especially as a crafts instructor. She also was a home healthcare aide for a short time.
Her first love was for her family, and she was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. With her artistic talents working with ceramics, painting, sewing, and macrame, she loved keeping busy creating treasures for her family, and her grandchildren all have a home-made Christmas stocking and other cute items.
She leaves behind her husband Tom of 57 years; 3 children, Sean (Carrie) Crosson of Olean, Mark (Alison) Crosson of Portville, and Melissa (Taylor Tomljenovich) Green of Graham, NC; 10 grandchildren, Isabelle Crosson, William Crosson, Addison Crosson, Sheena (Coltin) Herrmann, Brittny (Cody) Card, Taylor (Matthew) Reisman, Logan and Landon Crosson (twins), Garrett Crosson, and Daniel Green; 10 great grandchildren; 1 stepsister Alicia (Robert) Rosenblatt of Boston, NY; a niece Teresa Senyk, and a cousin Rosie (Bruce) Crandall.
She was predeceased by her parents, and a brother Robert “Butch” Senyk and his wife Diane.
Friends are invited to a memorial visitation on Friday (August 30, 2024) from noon to 1pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A Celebration of Life service will begin at 1pm in the funeral home, followed by an urn burial in Allegany Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
