Obituary of Randy L. Ewings

Randy L. Ewings Olean, NY Randy L. Ewings, 64, of Olean, passed away Friday (August 23, 2024). Born December 7, 1959 in Olean, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Carol Nelson Ewings. On August 20, 1994 he married Jean Napoleon who survives . Randy was a 1978 graduate of Olean High School and attended Jamestown Community College. He started his working years as owner and operator of Crossroads Restaurant and Bar and was also the founder of Lil Chicago Dustless Blasting. For the past 30 years he founded and operated the family-owned Hillside Landscaping and General Construction Co., a business that suited his talents as a builder and property manager. Randy enjoyed his family, especially spending time with his children and grandchildren, and was well-known and loved by the community. He frequented car shows, loved Chevy Corvettes, went to many garage sales, and liked to flip antiques. He leaves behind his wife Jean; 4 children, Nicole (Cody) Cochran of Duke Center, PA, Matthew Ewings of Olean, Courtney Ewings of Niagara Falls, and Zack Ewings of Olean; 3 grandchildren, Kennedy Ewings, Evelyn Cochran, and Dean Cochran; 2 sisters Laurie (Jeff) Ingram of Olean and Michelle (Billy) Bush of Texas; nieces and nephews Roman Napoleon, Gus Napoleon, Angelina Napoleon, Stacey (Jason) Kronbeck, Matthew (Janet) Ingram, Heather (Vinson) Walker, Jennifer (Jason) Mitchell, Ashley Caskey, and Brandon Caskey; an aunt, Edith Outman of Allegany; a mother-in-law Joan Napoleon of Allegany and other extended family, Christopher and Melanie Napoleon, Karen Branch, Kayla Branch, and Krista Branch. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Carl and Alberta Nelson; his paternal grandparents, Albert and Adah Ewing, and his father-in-law Gus Napoleon. It was Randy’s wish to not have a funeral service. The family will hold a time of remembrance to be announced at a future date. In recent years, Randy was a dedicated sponsor of the Otto-Eldred Hometown Days car show.
