Obituary of Paul W. Lounsbury

Allegany, NY- Paul W. Lounsbury, 75, formerly of Allegany, passed away Thursday (August 15, 2024) at Absolut of Salamanca. Born April 7, 1949 in Olean, he was the son of William Lounsbury and Ruth Putt McCarthy. Paul was a graduate of Allegany High School. In 1970 he enlisted in the US Army and served until 1972. During his service he received the National Defense Service Medal and was an expert on the M16. He was employed by Keystone Tool and Die as a machinist until his retirement. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Lounsbury of Allegany and son Jeff Champlin of Portville; grandchildren Cyrus Edwards of Olean, Royce Lounsbury of Allegany, and Reese Kettle of Allegany, and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and his significant other Christine Wilson in September of 2022. Services were held privately by the family. The burial was in Allegany Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home.
