Obituary of Joyce C. Wheaton

Joyce C. Wheaton West Clarksville, NY Joyce C. Wheaton, of West Clarksville, passed away Saturday (June 15, 2024) at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA after an illness. Born June 29, 1948 in Bath, she was the daughter of Kenneth E. and Thelma L. Earley Wheaton, Sr. After graduating from Salamanca Central High School in 1968, Joyce went on to work at Acme Electric Co. in Allegany and Cuba for 40 years where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication to her job. Joyce leaves behind a legacy of hard work, compassion, and resilience. She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit, best exemplified by her having donated a kidney to her brother Kenneth Wheaton, Jr.. Even well into her retirement years she lived independently and enjoyed gardening and mowing her yard. She had a special bond with her sisters, nieces and nephews, who will miss her dearly . She leaves behind 2 sisters, Patricia Hendrickson and Leora Stoltz, both of Salamanca, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. The family welcomes friends to a memorial visitation only on Friday (June 21, 2024) from 5-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean.
