Obituary of Vera G. Goode

Vera Gray Moss Goode Allegany, NY Vera Gray Goode, 89, a recent resident of Field of Dreams, and a longtime prior resident of Valley View Estates, passed away Tuesday (June 4, 2024) at 1:50AM at the Olean General Hospital after a brief illness. Vera was born to Harry and Erma McClain Moss on September 29, 1934 in Newton Falls, Ohio. In May 1954 she married the late Richard W. Reynolds with whom she had 8 children. On January 5, 1991 she married her beloved 2nd husband Rev. Robert E. “Bob” Goode. He passed away September 7, 2023. Vera graduated in 1953 from Braceville (Ohio) High School. She was a homemaker, nurse’s aide and served in ministry as a Pastor’s wife. She leaves behind her 8 children; Richard Reynolds of Ruskin, FL, Betty (Rev. Rodger) Hawkins of Lima, OH, Mark (Diane) Reynolds of Sebring, OH. Rev Rodney (Angie) Reynolds of Sidney, OH, Kathleen (Peter) VasNunes of Winterville, NC, Timothy (Xan) Reynolds of Maumee, OH, and Mary Wieger Olean; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Richard Reynolds and Rev. Robert Eugene Goode; a son Randy Charles Reynolds, and her siblings, Ada Ruth Church, Alda Gordon, Samuel Moss, Charles Moss, Almira Rood, Robert Moss, and Erma Hamilton. The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday (June 6, 2024) from 10am to 11:00am at the Allegany Baptist Church, 3236 Maple Ave. in Allegany. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the church. Pastor Mark Chapman will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Ellicottville.
