"Loving wife and mother"
ALLEGANY - Anne Q. Jones of 96 East Main Street died Thursday October 23, 2003 at the Olean General Hospital. Born in Olean on December 29, 1932 she was a daughter of Dr. Eugene D. and Frances G. Mullane Quinlan. On July 20, 1957 at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany, she married J. Donald Jones who survives.
She graduated in 1950 from St. Elizabeth Academy in Allegany. She was a 1954 graduate of Villa Maria College in Erie, PA where she earned her BS in Chemistry. Prior to her marriage, she was employed as a chemist at Vanderhorst in Olean. She was a published author in the American Chemical Society Journal. From 1970 through 1986 Mrs. Jones was employed as a teacher at St. Bonaventure Parochial School where she taught and served as vice principal for several years prior to her retirement. She was an active member of St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany. Anne loved her family and enjoyed spending time with all of them.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter; Monica A. (Anthony) Olivette of Burke, VA, three sons; Thomas H. (Lisa) Jones of Houston, TX, Fr. Michael P. "Tim" Jones, OFM of Hartford, CT and Terrence William Jones of Allegany; five grandchildren; Anthony J. Olivette of Burke, VA, Andrew J. Jones, Janelle E. Jones, Shannyn Q. Jones and Bryce L. Jones, all of Houston, TX. Anne was predeceased by a sister; Mary P. "Sis" Wild and two brothers; John B. "Jack" Quinlan and Eugene F. Quinlan.
Friends will be received on Saturday October 25, 2003 from 7-9 PM and on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean. Funeral services will be conducted Monday October 27, 2003 beginning with a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Bonaventure Church. Fr. Michael P. Jones, OFM will be celebrant. Committal prayers and burial will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to the Allegany Public Library, Allegany Fire Department or to the Archbishop Walsh Foundation.
