Obituary of Barbara M. Potter

Barbara M. Potter Allegany, NY Barbara M. Potter, of Allegany, passed away Friday (December 15, 2023) at her home. Born February 21, 1932 in Olean, she was the daughter of Richard and Frances Brandes Brown. On October 9, 1954, in Allegany, she married Theodore D. Potter, Sr., who predeceased her on August 5, 2015. Mrs. Potter was a 1950 graduate of Allegany High School and a 1953 graduate of the Arnot Ogden Hospital School of Nursing in Elmira. She worked for years as a registered nurse and retired from the Olean Medical Group. Her family was the center of her life, and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to providing a loving home, she enjoyed reading. She leaves behind her 2 children, Toni Potter of Allegany, and Theodore (Judy Lemon) Potter, Jr., of Allegany; 3 grandchildren, Jason (Brooke) Potter of Allegany, Stacie (Bob Spotz) Potter of Cleveland, OH, and Tim (Aime) Potter of Allegany; 3 great grandchildren Logan Potter, Branch Potter, and Oakleigh Potter; 1 sister Nancy (Ed) Foster of Allegany, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother Richard Brown of Arizona. At Mrs. Potter's request, there will be no planned funeral service or visitation. Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Allegany Rescue & EMS Inc., PO Box 217, Allegany, NY 14706 or Homecare and Hospice, 115 E. Main St., Allegany, NY 14706. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
