Obituary of Ramona M. Sakala

Ramona M. Sakala “Loving wife, mother and grandmother” Allegany, NY Ramona M. Sakala of 3974 Route 417, passed away Tuesday (December 12, 2023) at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born January 18, 1945 in Coudersport, PA, she was a daughter of Claude and Loretta Green. She was married to the “love of her life” Ronald J. Sakala who predeceased her February 7, 2013. Ramona attended Portville Central School before moving to Leesburg, VA with her husband where she worked as an assistant manager of an apartment complex. She and her husband then returned to New York and made their home in Portville where she opened a craft business, “Wood N Lace” gift shop. Her hobbies included woodcrafts and family, with Christmas being her favorite holiday. She absolutely loved her grandchildren and loved her special bond with her dog “Liberty” as well as her furry grand pup, “Podrick”. She leaves behind 3 children, Tina (Greg) Enos of Ceres, Karen (Ron) Holmes of Little Genesee, and Thomas Sakala of Dothan, AL; 4 grandchildren, Gerald Becker of Allegany, Kasandra (Victor) Farr of Olean, Justin (Jerrica) Rogers of Olean, and Tyler Shaffer of Erie, PA; 7 great grandchildren; 1 brother Gary Lileberg of Cassadaga, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by 2 brothers, Robert Green, and Arthur Wheeler, and 1 sister Sheila Milton. The family will be holding private services at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
