Olean NY Betty Jane Hallack of Olean, passed away peacefully Tuesday, (July 25, 2023) at Cuba Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Betty was born in 1932 in Olean and was the daughter of William Patrick and Lottie Jennie Myers McAdam. On June 4th, 1955 at St. Mary of the Angels Church, she married Terry W. Hallack who predeceased her. Betty and Terry were married for 59 years.
Betty was a lifelong Olean resident, a 1951 Olean High School graduate, and prom queen.
She worked for years after high school for the Exchange National Bank and held multiple positions and responsibilities. Betty was a member of St. Mary of the Angels parish and was an avid St. Bonaventure basketball fan and season ticket holder. Betty and Terry, along with family and friends, often traveled to Buffalo to watch the Bonnies and enjoy a night out.
She devoted her time, attention, and love to her family. She will be fondly remembered by everyone that knew her as a kind, gentle, loving soul.
Betty is survived by her niece Nancy (John, Jr.) Burlage; 2 nephews Jim (Zina) Walsh and Tim Butler, and many great nieces and nephews including Phil Walsh, Catherine Berg, Mary Beth Koehler, John Burlage, III, James Burlage, Susanna Burlage, Lauryn Butler, Carson Butler, and Jackson Butler.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law Sally and Tom Butler.
Friends will be received on Friday, (July 28th, 2023) from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm at the Casey,Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will begin at 1:30pm in the funeral home. Deacon Matt Wenke will officiate. A graveside service will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
