Kellie K. Baxter
Allegany, NY Kellie K. Baxter, 43, of 3316 Five Mile Rd., passed away Friday (May 12, 2023) at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, after a long illness.
Born November 17, 1979 in Kingston, PA, she was the daughter of Joseph “Jay” Dugan, Jr., and Maggie Stady. On August 18, 2018 in Allegany, she married Jeremy D. Baxter who survives.
Kellie was a graduate of Allegany High School and also St. Bonaventure University. She was currently working toward a master’s in education at St. Bonaventure. She previously graduated with a bachelors in art and this added to her creative nature.
She enjoyed substitute teaching at Allegany Limestone Central School, and especially loved working at Sonshine Christian Preschool where she led Super Science Monday.
Kellie was a devoted wife to Jeremy, and a devoted mother to her 5 children. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and swimming, especially in the ocean. She also was enthralled by the subject of science and enjoyed teaching it to young children.
Kellie leaves behind her husband; her mother of Allegany; 5 children Paige Dugan of Maine, and Darian Baxter-Dugan, Jeremy, Jr. Baxter-Dugan, Gunnar Baxter-Dugan, and Freya Baxter-Dugan, all of Allegany; 6 brothers and sisters, Shawn (Tiffany) Dugan of Gilbert, AZ, Kari (Nicholas) Faulkner of Olean, Carl Walterich of Olean, Carleen Walterich of Lumberton, NC, Blaine Walterich of Olean, and Bryce Walterich of Olean, and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, and 2 brothers Shane Dugan and Justin Walterich.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday (May 17, 2023) from 10-11am at St. Bonaventure Church, 95 E. Main St., Allegany. A memorial mass will begin at 11am in the church. Rev. Michael Reyes, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be at a later date.
