Obituary of Patti J. Smith

Patti J. Smith Olean, NY Patti J. Smith, of 729 Front St., passed away Wednesday (March 8, 2023) at her home. Born February 24, 1969 in Olean, she was the daughter of William A. and Sharon A. Bowen Peterson. She was married to Michael T. Smith, Sr. who predeceased her October 20, 2021. Patti was a lifelong resident of Olean and always enjoyed staying close to home and following her routine. She was presently employed for Perkins Restaurant where she had worked for over 30 years. She loved the company of her 2 chihuahua’s Sissy and Little Man, and always looked forward to any family functions. She is survived by a sister Karen (LaVor Henry) Peterson of Phoenix, AZ; 5 nieces and nephews, Johnathan Perrington, Brandyn Perrington, Stacy Gayton, William Gayton, and Tayona Peterson; many great nieces and nephews, and her lifetime friend, Doris Herrmann of Olean. She was predeceased by her father in 2016, her mother in 2011, 2 sisters Debra Peterson Leonard and Cheryl Peterson, and an infant great nephew, Jace Silvis. The family invites friends to a memorial gathering on Sunday (March 19, 2023) from 1-3pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A memorial service will begin at 3pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Allegany Cemetery.
