Obituary of Danny J. Richardson

Hinsdale, NY- Danny J. “Rach” Richardson, 74, passed away peacefully Saturday (November 19, 2022) at the Pines Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Machias after a lengthy illness. Born February 28, 1948, in Olean, he was the son of Guy and Dorothy Menter Richardson. On June 27, 1970, in Derby, NY he married Kathryn Crowell who predeceased him on March 31, 2010. Rach was a graduate of Gates Chili High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1967-1970. He worked at Dresser-Rand as an inspector until his retirement. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling and playing softball, going to races, and watching the LA Dodgers and Buffalo Bills. He was a member of the Eagles Club for several years. Surviving are 1 son Matthew R. (Crista Kottwitz) Richardson of Hinsdale; 3 grandchildren Tylor (Jennifer) Torpey, Dylan Richardson, and Hayden Richardson; 3 great-grandchildren Ava, Piper, and Gunner; 2 brothers Guy Richardson of Hinsdale and Jerry Richardson of Deming, NM;1 sister-in-law Lorie (Vida) Vitello of Olean and 2 nieces Nicole and Megan. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brothers Robert Richardson and William Richardson. Friends will be received on Tuesday (November 22, 2022) from 4-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. Funeral services will begin at 7 pm in the funeral home.
