The obituary for Peg was perfect in describing the beautiful, gentle woman she was. I always treasured the times she substituted for my high school art teacher, those were the days that I truly learned something and her guidance helped me become an art teacher. As an artist, I am continually inspired by her.
May she Rest In Peace and may her family take comfort from knowing how she touched so many lives.

I was saddened to hear about Mr.s Bothner's passing. She was a fantastic person. I remember her and "Doc B" from St. John's as a kid and had the pleasure of getting to know them both much better while a grad student at Bona's. As a young kid I always loved seeing her display of incredible watercolors at "Art in the Park." She was always so friendly and upbeat. I have a beautiful framed pen and ink that she did of the Friedsam Library at Bonas that She and Doc B gave me ages ago. I always think of both of them when I see it. They were a fun pair and are missed.

We met Peg and Dick going on fifty years ago through mutual friends and enjoyed many good, memorable times together. Although we moved to Southeastern PA thirty years ago we maintained a friendship that endured even after Dick's death. Athough our contacts became less frequent over the years we continued to look forward to and enjoy our visits and communications with Peg. She was a very special person who we valued as a friend and will miss. Our condolences to her family.

I can't improve on the words of Mike O'Malley, just could not have said it any better myself. WELL put and DITTO from this friend of Peg and Dick for almost 60 years.
I was a biology major in the SBU Class of '65 and Dick taught me Ecology and opened up his home to me, which is when I met Peg and the kids. As perfect a family as one can imagine. This is one sad weekend...but we're all "on the march".

Simply put, Aunt Peggy was one of nicest people I've ever met in my 71 years of life. So much so that I and my 7 brothers and sisters referred to her as "Saint Peggy". She was younger sister to my father who moved to California in the late 40's. My dad moved back to the East Coast when I was nine to get his Master's Degree for a year. I moved to Cleveland in the 80's which allowed me to get to know Peggy and Dick and my East Coast cousins as well as my grandmother, Francis O'Malley. Aunt Peggy's devotion to being good to people and making them feel welcome while still coming across as a strong woman was amazing. She will be missed but not forgotten and her spirit will definitely live on. Thoughts and prayers for her and the wonderful family she left behind from the other side of the country.
