Obituary of Harriett Wilday

Olean,NY -Harriett A. Wilday ,99, passed away Monday (January 24, 2022) at the Olean General Hospital. Born December 12, 1922 in Olean, she was the daughter of Vincent and Alice Isaman Dutton. On February 17, 1941 in Bennettsville, SC, she married Robert A. Wilday, Sr. who predeceased her July 23, 1990. Mrs. Wilday was a 1940 graduate of Hinsdale Central School and had been employed at the former AVX Co. in Olean. Mrs. Wilday was a member of the First Baptist Church in Olean. In her free time, she was an avid reader and in her later years enjoyed audio books. She also enjoyed spending many years traveling with her husband. Surviving are her children, Robert (Sylvia) Wilday, Jr. of Eldred, PA, Corinne (Bruce) Moore of Olean, Martin (Leticia) Wilday of Greenville, SC, and Jeffrey Wilday of Olean; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Gary Wilday. The Family will receive friends on Friday (January 28, 2022) from 4 to 7 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
