Obituary of Tonya S. Darcy

Hinsdale, NY- Tonya Sue Darcy, 56, passed away Friday (September 3, 2021) at her home, surrounded by her husband and loving family after a long illness. Born January 22, 1965 in Olean, she was the daughter of John and Patricia Libby McStraw, Sr. On March 21, 1998 at the First Baptist Church in Olean, she married Joseph M. Darcy, who survives. Tonya was a graduate of Olean Business Institute and The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. She went on to work beside her husband at the Owl Homes in Allegany as a secretary. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, reading, beading, being around her grandkids and was an avid motorcycle rider. She was a part of the Hog Association, Lady Hogs Association, and the Hawk Clan. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her children Kristal (Mark) Brunck of Hinsdale, Ashley (Mike Crawford) Darcy of Portville, Michael (Kristen) Darcy of Hinsdale, John Darcy, and Brandon (Dora) Darcy of Randolph; 13 grandchildren; her siblings Melissa ( Justin Prescott) McStraw of Eldred, PA, John ( Erin) McStraw of Olean, Cristina Murray of Portville, Randy (Max) Lang, and Kendra Kelly. She was predeceased by her father. Friends will be received by the family on Friday (September 10, 2021) from 4-7 pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean and Saturday (September 11, 2021) from 10am-11am at which time a memorial service will begin. Memorials if desired may be made to the Ischua Fire Department, 5634 NY-16, Hinsdale, NY 14743.
