Obituary of Maureen H. Richardson

Maureen H. Richardson Olean, NY Olean, NY Maureen H. Richardson of Olean passed away Friday, July 30th at Manor Hills in Wellsville, NY. Born May 22, 1932 in Wellsville, NY she was the daughter of Mack and Alwilda Metcalf Harder. In 1951 in Olean she married Howard "Pete" Richardson. Maureen is predeceased by her parents, husband, 2 sisters Janet Lackey and Maxine McLaughlin; son-in-law Tom VanHall and brother-in-law Lewis Baker. Maureen was a 1950 graduate of Olean High School and worked at the Richardson's Grocery Store from 1967 to 1984. She then worked for Flanagan's Furniture Store and later for the Olean Medical Group until her retirement in 1994. Maureen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Olean for over 70 years. She enjoyed traveling, volunteering with Meals on Wheels and Interfaith Caregivers. Maureen especially enjoyed being with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are 3 daughters Christine Kellin of Hampton, VA, Cherilyn VanHall and Corinne (Lance) Bauerle both of Rochester; son Howard G. (Patti) Richardson of Olean; 8 grandchildren; Josiah Walker, Bethany (Tony) Baylock, Craig (Renee) Lepiane, Samantha (Rob) Ricketts, Tim (Molly) Pierce, Michael (Heather) Richardson, Alyssa Richardson and Jessie (Ethan) Knapp, 16 great grandchildren; 1 sister Ruth (Lewis) Baker of Elwood, IN; 2 brothers-in-law Robert Lackey and Jack McLaughlin, both of Statesville, NC and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is Saturday, Aug. 7th from 12-2pm followed by a funeral service, at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean. Private family burial services will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery.
