Obituary of Carol J. Besok

Carol J. "Keek" Besok "Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Allegany, NY Carol J. Besok, of Allegany, passed away Monday (December 7, 2020) at The Pines of Olean, where she had been residing the past several years. Born December 17, 1934 in Olean, she was the daughter of Ed and Jane McGavisk Grandusky. Carol was raised in Olean and attended Olean schools. She worked for over 30 years for Dresser Rand Co. prior to her retirement. Many will remember her also as a waitress at many of Olean's well-known restaurants over the years. She loved her family and was a dedicated, kind-hearted soul to them and to all her friends. She was always staying busy, and particularly enjoyed going on trips with her family. Surviving are a daughter Kim Elling of Allegany; 2 grandsons Jeremy Elling of Olean and Timothy Elling of Allegany; 1 great grandson Jack Elling; 2 brothers Gary (Lenore) Grandusky of Fredonia and Bruce (Debbie)_ Grandusky of Olean and 3 nephews Mark Grandusky, Gregg Grandusky and Gavin Grandusky. She was predeceased by a son-in-law David Elling in 2017, and 2 nieces. A private memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Burial will be next to her parents in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials may be made to The Pines of Olean, 2245 W. State St., Olean, NY 14760, the Allegany Engine Co., 188 W.
