Cindy L. Clancy
Portville, NY Cindy L. Clancy, 72, of Portville, passed away Saturday (December 5, 2020) in the Olean General Hospital.
Born April 16, 1948 in Olean, she was the daughter of Dean and Marjorie Guyer Kent. On April 13, 1973 in Allegany, she married Paul R. Clancy who predeceased her March 29, 2003.
Cindy was a graduate of Ellicottville Central School and later of Bryant and Stratton Business School in Buffalo. She worked as a secretary for William T. Hall, an Olean accountant. She then worked in the accounting department of the Olean Medical Group for many years prior to her retirement in 2015.
She loved to crochet and also make yearly trips to Las Vegas. In her younger years, she enjoyed taking her family camping. She was a volunteer for Joyful Rescues for many years and was one of its founders. What she most enjoyed was being with her family and enjoying the company of her close friends.
She is survived by 2 sons Jason Clancy of Portville and Jeff (Halona) Clancy of Allegany; 2 grandchildren Asana Clancy and Thayuni Clancy; 3 siblings John (Karen) Kent of Ellicottville, Debra Crowley of Allegany and Dean (Theresa) Kent of Ellicottville and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, and 2 brothers-in-law Joseph J. Crowley, Jr. and Gary Clancy.
Due to the difficulty in gatherings at this time, a celebration of life will be scheduled for this coming summer and will be announced. Burial will be next to her husband Paul in Green Cemetery, Great Valley.
