"Warmhearted and Caring"
WESTONS MILLS – Catherine B. Senyk of 1383 Olean Portville Rd. died Friday July 2, 2004 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Allegany on March 25, 1935 she was a daughter of Eugene and Marie Geise Riehle. Catherine attended Allegany Schools. In 1952 she married Stephen J. Rich who predeceased her in 1964. In 1967 she married Wallace N. Senyk who predeceased her in 1992.
Mrs. Senyk was employed as an aid for Home Healthcare in Olean for many years retiring in 2000. She was always assisting senior friends who needed a helping hand. She had been a leader and camp counselor for Campfire Girls in the 1960's and 1970's. She was active with 4-H through the 1980's. She had a great love for horses and all animals.
She is survived by three daughters, Patricia (Larry) Lloyd of Chico, CA, Catherine (Alan) Lauser of Olean and Alicia (Robert) Rosenblatt of Boston, NY; a step daughter Sharon (Thomas) Crosson of Olean; sister Ann (Edward) Fritz of Yorktown, VA; brothers Joseph (Sue) Riehle of Shinglehouse, PA and James (Beverly) Riehle of Webster, NY; grandchildren Amanda Potter, Courtney Sue, Christina Lauser Frost, Theresa, Mark, Melissa and Sean Senyk, Katie, Angel and Brittany Rosenblatt; great grandson Ethan Lauser; special friend, Ken Studd. In addition to her husbands, she was predeceased by a stepson Robert Senyk.
Friends will be received on Tuesday July 6, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd. where funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday July 7, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Daniel !McKee, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Allegany will officiate. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
