I’m so saddened and sorry to hear of Gina’s passing. I worked as Gina’s deputy for nearly two very tumultuous years at the Village of Brockport. To this day I still tell everyone that she was the best boss I ever had. At that time, to call the working environment at Brockport to toxic, would be a huge understatement. Gina kept me sane and motivated to keep coming to work every day. I would not have survived without her. In fact, on the day she resigned, after I finished crying, I immediately started looking for another job and resigned shortly thereafter. She was a strong, courageous, very intelligent woman with the utmost integrity. Even though it often put her in the hot seat, should was not afraid to speak the truth and always had the numbers to back up her arguments. She could be very matter of fact but was also very funny. I loved chatting with her and she always managed to cheer me up and make me laugh. She was a great mentor and supportive friend. We lost touch after she moved to PA but I still thought of her often. I wish her family the best at this time and I’m so sorry for your loss of this very special woman.
