Joan G. Agett Olean, NY-- Joan G. Agett of 108 S. 14th St. died Sunday (October 20, 2002) shortly after arrival at Olean General Hospital. Born March 18, 1921 in Rochester, NY she was the daughter of Frank and Mary Ellen Breen Griffith. On February 9, 1946 in Rochester, NY she married Robert E. Agett who survives. Mrs. Agett attended school in Salamanca and has resided in Olean since 1950. She was a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church. Surviving besides her husband are 2 sons Richard Agett of Vail, Colorado and Donald (Michele) Agett of Williamsburg, Va.; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters Mabel Glenn of Rochester and Mary Ann Lawton of Springville, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 1 son Robert F. Agett on May 5, 1994; 3 brothers J. Donald Griffith, Frank M. Griffith and John Griffith; 1 sister Catherine Peterson and 2 other sisters in infancy. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm in the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. A prayer service will be held Wednesday (October 23, 2002) at 9:30 am in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Angels Church. Rev. Gregory Dobson, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Mary of the Angels Church.
