Virginia M. Carls
Allegany, NY Virginia M. Carls of 110 E. Main St. passed away Tuesday (July 24, 2018) in Tonawanda after an unexpected illness.
Born September 18, 1958 in Olean she was the daughter of James R. and Orma Belle Bloomingdale Carls.
Virginia was a graduate of Allegany Central School and later received an Associates degree from Olean Business Institute. She worked at various places in the Olean and Allegany areas and last worked as a secretary for the Department of Environmental Conservation in Olean.
She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and in earlier years was active with the Catholic Daughters of America. She loved to read and also enjoyed cooking and crocheting.
Surviving are a daughter Alexandria Carls of Allegany; a grandson Jacob; 2 sisters Pamela Carls of Sunnyvale, CA and Elizabeth (Lawrence) Crisafulli of Arlington, TX; 3 brothers Richard (Mary) Carls of Olean, John Carls of Wyoming and Timothy (Renee) Carls of Copeland, FL and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents James and Orma Carls; a brother Patrick Carls in 1997 and a sister Mary Carls in 1972.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 1-3pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd., Olean. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday (July 30, 2018) at 10am at St. Bonaventure Church. Rev. James Vacco, OFM, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
