Leonard A. Kohl
Olean, NY Leonard A. Kohl of 113 S. 19th St. passed away Friday (July 13, 2018) at The Pines of Olean after a short illness.
Born May 6, 1927 in Olean he was the son of Albert and Grace Campbell Kohl. On February 14, 1948 in Olean he married Joan Bates who survives.
Leonard was a graduate of Olean High School and soon after, enlisted in the US Army where he served as a medic during WWII.
He had been employed as a printer at the Olean Times Herald for 42 years until his retirement in 1988.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Olean American Legion Post 530. He enjoyed golfing and gardening. His family was most important to him and he enjoyed raising his children and watching his grandchildren grow.
He is survived by his wife Joan; 3 daughters Pamela (Stanley) Brown of Bradford, PA, Diane Gibbons of Rochester and Elizabeth (John) Somers of Penn Yan; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by an infant son Jeffrey Kohl; a son-in-law Gerald Gibbons and a brother and sister-in-law Donald and Clarice Kohl.
At Mr. Kohl's request, no visitation or funeral service will be held. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
