Olean, NY Janyce M. Phielschiefter of Olean passed away Thursday (May 10, 2018) at The Pines of Olean.
Born December 31, 1943 in Olean she was the daughter of Eugene and Grace Willover Hadley. On June 11, 1966 at St. John's Church in Olean she married Raymond Phielschiefter who predeceased her July 15, 1997.
Janyce was a 1961 graduate of Olean High School and had resided in Texas City, TX for many years prior to returning to Olean in 2006. She was a member of the Basilica of St Mary of the Angels in Olean and she enjoyed reading and doing craft projects. She especially had a fondness for her cats.
She is survived by 2 cousins, Sue Dutton and Karl Dutton, both of Olean; 2 aunts, Joan Carls and Margaret Shetterly; 2 uncles Richard (Nancy) Ratzel and Robert Ratzel; a sister-in-law Suzanne Jordan and a niece Brandi Weatherly, both of California; a special friend Sherlene Cram of Texas and a "special nephew" Dennis Pezzimenti.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held Monday (May 14, 2018) at 10:00am at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Rev. David Tourville, parochial vicar at the Basilica, will officiate. Burial will be on her parent's lot at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olean.
