K. Chet Moody
Olean, NY K. Chet Moody of 121 S. 17th St. passed away Wednesday (March 28, 2018) at the Olean General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Born September 14, 1933 in Olean he was a son of Karl C. and Verne Moody. On October 6, 1962 at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean he married Margaret A. Fox who predeceased him July 31, 1996.
Chet was a graduate of Olean High School and received an engineering degree from Penn State University. He worked many years as an engineer for the NYS Department of Transportation until his retirement. Along with his wife he owned and operated the C & M Ceramic Studio in Olean for many years.
He will be remembered as a caring and giving man who immensely enjoyed gatherings with family and friends, especially camping and cookouts. He also had great compassion for his dogs that meant the world to him as his companions.
Surviving are 3 nephews David (Frances) Fox of Duncannon, PA, Robert (Patricia) Fox of Olean and Fred (Jean) Fox of Park City, UT and several great nieces and nephews.
At Chet's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Burial will be next to his wife in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
