Theresa Ann Ellman
Olean, NY Theresa Ann Ellman of 123 S. 18th St. passed away Friday (November 10, 2017) in the Olean General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born October 1, 1947 in Brooklyn she was the daughter of Harold E. and Agnes Drivick Nelson. On October 10, 1970 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Queens she married Anthony J. Ellman, Sr. who survives.
Theresa received a 2-year nursing degree from Hillcrest General Hospital and Queen Hospital Center and from 1968 to 1970 she was an Air Force Nurse Corps veteran, having achieved the rank of 1st lieutenant. As a civilian she worked from 1972 to 1974 for the VA Psychiatric Hospital in Canandaigua and then worked for over 20 years for the former St. Francis Hospital. She later worked an additional 26 years for the Cattaraugus County Department of the Aging.
She was a member of St. John's Church in Olean and a member of the Allegany American Legion. She was also a member of the National Rifle Association, was an avid reader and enjoyed doing word search puzzles. Her two grandchildren were the loves of her life.
She leaves behind her loving husband Anthony; 3 sons Anthony Ellman, Jr., Christopher (Casey) Ellman and Ryan Ellman, all of Olean; a granddaughter Ava Moran; a grandson Carter Ellman; 1 sister Fran (Livio "Tony") Belulovich of Staten Island; an aunt, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. A prayer service will be held Tuesday (November 14, 2017) at 9:30am in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. John's Church. Rev. Patrick Melfi, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
