Larry R. Davis

Olean, NY     Larry R. Davis of Olean, formerly of Cuba, passed away peacefully Sunday (September 24, 2017) at Absolut Care of Allegany.

Born October 27, 1936 in Rochester he was the son of Russell and Helen Lyons Davis.  He was first married to Julie Stewart Gurney and later married Susan Davis.

Mr. Davis was a graduate of Bradford Area High School and of Alfred University where he received an accounting degree.  He first worked for the former Acme Electric Co. in Cuba and later for Olean Wholesale until his retirement.

He enjoyed fishing as well as writing, especially poetry.  He most enjoyed spending time with his family and grandkids.

He is survived by a daughter Susan Bentley of Olean; a son Monte Davis; 2 grandchildren Brittany Bentley and Shane Bentley; 2 great grandchildren Aedan Gelder and Ayla Peterson; 2 sisters Diane Scott of Florida and Bonnie Bock of Bethesda, MD and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son Stephen Davis in 2007.

At Mr. Davis' request, there will be no scheduled funeral service.  Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
