Allegany, NY Nancy J. Jones, 82, of 119 Maple Ave passed away Saturday (July 22, 2017) at the Bradford Manor in Bradford, PA.
Born March 19, 1935 in Olean she was the daughter of John G. and Isabelle "Berta" Peaslee Jones. On June 18, 1955 in Salamanca she married Harold "Spike" Jones who predeceased her October 8, 1988.
Nancy had been the manager of medical records at Olean General Hospital for many years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and had been active with the Sixty Plus Club and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by a daughter Brenda (Greg I) Benjamin of Bay Minette, AL; a son Bruce (Lynn) Jones of Bay Minette, AL; 6 grandchildren Adam Benjamin, Scott Benjamin, Greg II (Bridget) Benjamin, Ashley (Cameron) Jones-Smith, Haylely (Kyle Brooks) Jones and Allison Jones; 3 great-grandchildren: Ana Benjamin, Jacquie Benjamin, and David Benjamin; a sister Sue (Wayne) Foster of Shinglehouse, PA; nieces Lynda McCaffery, Debbie (Jim) Terrette and Pam (Freddie) Ortega; nephews Bob (Patty) Sander and Randy Sander and several other nieces & nephews; a cousin Joni Eberle and a close friend Barrett Morrison.
She was predeceased by her husband and parents.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Visitation will continue on Friday (July 28, 2017) from 10-11am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany with services to begin at 11am. Rev. Daniel Buringrud, pastor, will officiate. Burial services will be private at Allegany Cemetery.
