Obituary of Robert "Pete" Cucchiaro
Olean- Robert "Pete" Cucchiaro, of 218 Hamilton Ave., passed away Wednesday (June 21, 2017) at the Olean General Hospital.
Born December 27, 1930 in Olean, he was the son of Salvatore and Josephine Minneci Cucchiaro. He married Kathleen Butler at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean, who survives.
Mr. Cucchiaro served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1954. He worked as a machinist at Dresser Rand for many years and was a member of the United Steel Workers Union.
He was a member of St. John's Church, and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and watching the New York Yankees.
Mr. Cucchiaro is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, and five children Tom (Eileen) Cucchiaro of Cuba, Susan Cucchiaro of Sarasota, FL., Dan (Mary) Cucchiaro of Bakersfield, CA., Maureen Cucchiaro of Norfolk, VA., Brenda (Julio Cruz) Krahe of Sarasota, FL.; one grandson Brad (Amanda) Painter of Port Allegany, PA; three great-grandchildren; two sisters Marie Walsh of Lincoln, CA., and Josephine Bell of Punta Gorda FL.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters Betty Cucchiaro and Vida Miller; and three brothers Salvatore Cucchiaro, Andrew Cucchiaro, and Joseph Cucchiaro.
There will be no prior visitation. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John's Church on Monday, July 3rd at 11:00am. Rev. F. Patrick Melfi, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
