Obituary of Librada N. McPeak

Olean, NY Librada N. McPeak of 317 N. 10th St. passed away Thursday (October 20, 2016) in her home after an illness. Born July 20, 1955 in Subic Zambales, Philippines she was a daughter of Teotimo and Adriana Flores Noriega, both of whom predeceased her. On August 20, 1988 in Olean she married Stephen E. McPeak who survives. Librada graduated from the University of Manila and moved to the United States in 1988. She was an active communicant of St. Mary of the Angels Church and was an integral part of the Filipino community in the Olean area. She worked for the Olean City School District in food service for many years before retiring in January due to ill health. Her life was enriched by immersing herself in her church, Filipino and work families. She loved camping and organizing Filipino community get-togethers. She leaves behind her loving husband; two loving children Teotimo "T.J." McPeak of Rockford, IL and Tchianna McPeak of Olean; a brother Joel (Joy) Noriega and their children of Subic Zambales, Philippines and several nieces and nephews in both the US and abroad. Friends are welcome to attend a Novena from 9:30 to 10am Saturday (October 29, 2016) at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Olean. The family will then receive friends from 10 to 11am, followed by a memorial mass at 11am in the church. Librada will be returned to her native town in the Philippines for burial in the family plot. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
