ARTHEMISE M. PIECHOTA
OLEAN - Armethise M. Piechota, formerly of South 13th Street and Seneca Court, died Friday November 5, 2004 at the Bradford Ecumenical Home, Bradford, PA. Born in Belmont, NY on August 12, 1912 she was the daughter of Arthur and Lois Brisco Austin. On January 11, 1941 at Transfiguration Church she married Walter Piechota who predeceased her September 5, 1995.
Mrs. Piechota was a member of Transfiguration Church and was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary. She was well known for her knitting and crocheting and was an avid card player.
She is survived by sons Walter (Phyllis) Piechota of Ocala, FL and Stephan (Sue) Piechota of Olean; daughters Janice (Charles) Manley of Wyalusing, PA and Barbara (Jim) Whiteman of Olean; grandchildren Todd, Chris, Gregg, Scott, Renee, Kelly, Erin, Robert, David and Noel; great granddaughters Haley, Alyssa and Alexis; two nieces and one nephew. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by brothers Charles Austin and Fredrick Austin.
Friends will be received on Sunday November 7, 2004 at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Rd., Olean from 6-9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday (Nov. 8) beginning with a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Transfiguration Church. Fr. Ronald Hughes, a close friend of the family, will be celebrant. Burial and committal services will follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany. Memorials may be made to Bradford Ecumenical Home, Wellness Center, 100 St. Francis Drive, Bradford, PA 16701.
