Obituary of Thomas W. Hartman

Thomas W. Hartman Olean, NY Thomas W. Hartman, 31, of 1448 South Ave. passed away Wednesday (March 9, 2016) at the Olean General Hospital after a short illness. "Tommy" was born January 1, 1985 in Gowanda and had been under the loving care of the ReHabilitation Center in Olean for many years. He had such a dynamic personality that it afforded him the ability to develop loving relationships with everyone he came into contact with. He had a bright infectious smile that literally changed atmospheres regardless of the weather. Tommy enjoyed spending time with people and cared greatly for his peers. He loved to participate in events such as the Gus Macker 3 on 3 basketball tournament, Bona games, and local festivals. Tommy appreciated his community, and he had great respect for public servants such as firemen, law enforcement and EMTs. He is survived by his mother Barbara L. Hartman of Virginia; a brother John Lee of Boston, MA; an uncle Jeffery (Kathy) Hartman of Columbia, South Carolina and his special caregiver and friend Sheila Collins. He will be sorely missed by his peers, his caregivers, his community and all of the many hearts he has touched over the years. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd., Olean on Monday (March 14, 2016) from 10am until noon. Funeral services will begin at noon with Pastor Mike Winder, a friend of Tom's, to officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Gowanda.
