Gaetano Thomas (Tom) Silluzio Gaetano Thomas (Tom) Silluzio, 56, of 422 First Avenue passed away peacefully at home Monday (February 22, 2016) after a lengthy and courageous fight with cancer. Tom was born March 31, 1959 in Hartford, CT to the late Luigi and Angelina Spada Silluzio. He married June Ingenito Silluzio on September 16, 2000 at Saint John’s Church in Olean who survives. Tom was a 1978 graduate of Olean High School. He was employed by the Service Store Park & Shop and then worked for American Olean Tile Co. for 29 years. Tom was a member of Saint John’s Roman Catholic Church where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister. Tom loved being around his family and dear friends, enjoyed dancing and all genres of music, especially 50’s, 60’s, and Motown and was a committed and loyal instructor at AKT Combatives where he achieved a 2ND degree black belt. Tom was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching college and professional basketball and football and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. Tom had an uncanny memory of past events, especially all James Bond 007 movies and all super bowl participants and scores. Surviving in addition to his wife June are a brother and sister-in-law Joe and Carol Silluzio of Simsbury, CT, a nephew Justin Silluzio of New London, CT, and a niece Sara Silluzio also of Simsbury, CT., his uncle and aunt Vince and Doris Silluzio of Olean, NY, many cousins and extended family members here in the U.S. and in Italy, June’s children, and many dear and close friends and parishioners. Family and friends may gather from 1-3 & 6-8pm on Friday at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Saturday (February 27, 2016) beginning with a prayer service at 9:15am in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial follow at 10:00am in St. John's Church. Rev. Edward Sheedy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Saint Bonaventure Cemetery, Olean. Memorials on behalf of Tom may be made to Saint John’s Church, 921 N. Union St. Olean.
