Allegany, NY-- Vera A. Tomkiw of 3451 Fortune Drive died Tuesday (December 7, 2004) in Allegany from injuries sustained in an automobile-pedestrian accident.
Born December 21, 1924 in Tornopil, Ukraine she was the daughter of Zygmunt and Stephanie Wacyk. She was married to Bohdan S. Tomkiw who predeceased her October 29, 2000.
Mrs. Tomkiw was a homemaker in Allegany most of her life. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church where she devotedly attended mass each day.
Surviving are a son Bhodan S. (Motria) Tomkiw, Jr., MD and a granddaughter Lydia Tomkiw of Fair Oaks, CA.
There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday (December 10, 2004) at 10:00am in St. Bonaventure Church. Fr. Daniel Riley, OFM and Fr. Richard, Husted, OFM will concelebrate. Burial will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Bonaventure Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
