Obituary of Sheila Boston

Sheila C. Boston Olean, NY Sheila C. Boston of Olean passed away Wednesday (March 18, 2015) at the Buffalo General Hospital after a short illness. Born February 7, 1932 in Lockport she was the daughter of Carl and Julia Leonard Callahan. She was married to James Boston who predeceased her in 1989. Mrs. Boston was a lifelong music teacher and graduated from Fredonia State College and later received her Master's from the University of Buffalo. In 1992 she received a PhD from the University of Maryland. She taught at numerous schools in Western New York and Maryland where she brought the joy of music to students from kindergarten to college. She was a member of St. John's in Olean. Surviving are four children Mary (George Mauro) O'Connell of Forest Hills, William O'Connell of Olean, Michael O'Connell of Worcester, MA and Sheila (Edward) Manginelli of Tonawanda and two grandchildren Sarah Mauro and John Mauro. Friends will be received today (Friday) from 5-7pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Funeral services will be held Saturday (March 22, 2015) beginning with a prayer service at 10:30am in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at St. John's Church. Rev. Edward Sheedy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Lockport. A Scriptural wake service will be held this evening at 6:45pm in the funeral home. Memorials made be made to a Hospice organization of the donors choice.
