Obituary of Aletha Burlingame

Allegany- Aletha H. Burlingame of 1254 Two Mile Road, passed away Monday (March 2, 2015) at her home. Born October 8, 1930 in Olean she was the daughter of Guy N. and Nellie E. Schryver Hitchcock. She married Thomas F. J. Burlingame on August 28, 1961 in Tacoma WA. He predeceased her April 5, 1966. Mrs. Burlingame was a graduate of Allegany High School. She was a member of the Olean Garden Club and ARVAS Fish Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, geneology, watching the wildlife in her backyard and taking care of the bunnies and kittens. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are one daughter Dawn M. (Frank) Sciabarrasi of Allegany; one grandson Frank W. Sciabarrasi of Olean; one granddaughter Savanna L. Sciabarrasi of Allegany; one great-grandson Brandon M. Dailey; one sister June E. (Paul) Blazejewski of Allegany; one sister-in- law Janet Hitchcock; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one brother Glen E. Hitchcock. Friends will be received at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean on Saturday (March 7, 2015) from 2-4pm at which time funeral services will begin. Dr. Anthony Evans will officiate. Burial will be at Allegany Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to the Allegany Fire Department 2598 W. Five Mile Road, Allegany NY 14706.
