Obituary of James R. Burgeson

James R. Burgeson Allegany, NY James R. "Jim" Burgeson of 3631 Buffalo Rd. passed away Wednesday (February 18, 2015) in the presence of his loving family. Born June 1, 1953 in Titusville, PA he was the son of Willis E. and Marian O'Shea Burgeson. On February 13, 2003 he married Nancy Hyde who survives. Jim was a 1971 graduate of Bradford, (PA) High School and his lifelong passion for cars led to his having established Olean Class Cars, Inc. in 1983 in Olean. In addition to his enjoyment of cars, he loved spending time with his family at their lake house at Chautauqua Lake. Surviving besides his wife are 1 daughter Jill Marian (Andrew Monn) Burgeson of Topanga, CA; 1 son Casey James Burgeson of Cuba; 3 stepchildren Lauren Stroud, Alyssa Stroud and Alyson Stroud, all of Allegany; 2 grandchildren Clayton Burgeson and Marek Monn; 3 sisters Linda Pearson of Ft. Myers, FL, Carol (Dan) Fitzgerald of Lewis Run, PA and Kathy (Jim) Gates of Mechanicsburg, PA and several nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends for a visitation this evening (Friday) from 5-8pm at the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home 3128 W. State Rd. Olean. Jim will be laid to rest in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Youth is not a time of life. It is a state of mind. It is not a matter of red cheeks, red lips, supple knees. It is a temper of the will, the quality of the imagination, the vigor of the emotions. It is the freshness of the deep springs of life. Youth means the temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, an appetite of adventure over a life of ease. Nobody ever grew old by living a number of years - people grow old by deserting their ideals.
