Obituary of Violet Thompson

Olean, NY- Violet M. Thompson, formerly from Corry, passed away Tuesday (January 13, 2015) at the Olean General Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born December 19, 1929 in Erie, PA she was the daughter of Douglas and Irma Stanley Becker. She married Russell Thompson, who predeceased her.
Mrs. Thompson worked for many almost 30 years at the former Loblaws Grocery Store.
Surviving are one daughter Kathy (Jeffrey) McCray of Olean, NY; two granddaughters Kelly (Marc) Ralston of Allegany and Megan McCray of Washington, D.C.; three great-grandchildren Devin Shea, Lauren Michele and Chase William; two sisters Pam Magee and Joyce Orris; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by three brothers Douglas, William and Charles Becker.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday (January 17, 2015) at Noon at Evergreen Cemetery in Union City, PA.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Columbus Community United Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 W. State Road, Olean, NY.
