Obituary of Catherine Manzo

Catherine Manzo Olean, NY Catherine Manzo, formerly of Godfrey Hollow Rd. and a recent resident of Eden Heights and the Cuba Skilled Nursing Facility, passed away peacefully Friday November 21, 2014 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born October 29, 1921 in Bolivar she was the daughter of Anthony and Marguerite Romanelli Ciampa. On July 31, 1946 she married Gerald A. Manzo who predeceased her February 26, 2011. Mrs. Manzo was a longtime employee of the Cattaraugus County Health Department having served as secretary to the Commissioner of Health. She enjoyed the outdoors, walking, cooking, and taking care of her roses. Surviving are a son Michael Manzo of Olean; 1 granddaughter Katie (Brad) Camp of Olean; 2 great grandsons Tyler and Easton Camp; 1 sister Rose Baglione of Syracuse and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by a daughter Carol Ann Fitzmaurice and two brothers Tom Ciampa and Vince Ciampa. At Mrs. Manzo's request, there will be no services. Memorials if desired may be made to the Salvation Army, 310 E. State St. Olean, NY or to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean. Online condolences may be expressed at oleanfuneralhome.com.
