Obituary of Pauline Gifford Hall

Pauline Turock Gifford Hall Tucson, AZ Pauline Turock Gifford Hall, 93, passed away September 11, 2014 at the Northwest Medical Center in Tucson. She was born in Olean NY to George & Margaret (Riley) Turock. Her parents both died before she was 6 and was raised by her aunt, Mary Turock Cawley of Olean. She attended St. Elizabeth's Academy for girls in Allegany and Beaver College in Pennsylvania. She married Jess Gifford and had two girls, Georgian and Natalie. Jess's career as an Army Air Corps Officer took the family to several states until he died tragically in a military plane crash. She relocated to Tucson AZ and was remarried to Ralph B. Hall and had a son Ralph J. Hall. Pauline and Ralph co-owned the Pinal Music Co. in Casa Grande for 10 years in the late 50's and early 60's. She sold the business and returned to college where she obtained a teaching certificate. She taught elementary grades in Casa Grande for 15 years at Evergreen and Saguaro schools. She retired from teaching in 1986 and remained in Casa Grande until moving to a retirement village in Tucson in 2012. She is survived by her daughter Natalie Gifford Hopkins (Robert) of Casa Grande AZ, her son Ralph Jeffrey Hall (Cindy) of Tucson AZ, grandchildren Jennifer Hopkins of Tucson AZ, Sean Hopkins of Casa Grande AZ, Shannin Kishbaugh (Justin) of Logan UT, Emily Atwater of Brooklyn NY, Kaitlin Hall of Tucson AZ and Megan Hall of Tucson AZ. She is also survived by her three great-grandchildren, Noah, Olivia and Nash Kishbaugh of Logan UT. She was preceded in death by her husband's Major Jess Gifford, Ralph B. Hall and her daughter Georgian Gifford Atwater. A private graveside gathering of family will be held at her final resting place in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Allegany NY. Arrangements are under the direction of the Casey, Halwig & Hartle Funeral Home, Olean.
